VibranceGUI CS2 Setup and Color Profile Guide

A VibranceGUI CS2 profile lets you set a preferred color intensity for Counter-Strike 2 while keeping a separate desktop baseline on supported systems. This helps you manage game and everyday color preferences without manually adjusting the driver control each time.

This guide covers selecting the current CS2 executable, saving your profile, and checking colors when you switch between the game and desktop. You will also check monitor, resolution, and refresh-rate behavior. Compatibility depends on your graphics hardware, driver controls, and display configuration.

VibranceGUI CS2 Quick Setup Checklist

Check these items before adjusting your profile. The sections below explain the setup steps and how to assess the results.

ItemWhat to confirm
PlatformYou are using Windows with the relevant NVIDIA or AMD color controls available for your display.
App packageIdentify your selected VibranceGUI build and distinguish it from the historical CS GO-only package.
Game entrySelect the current CS2 executable rather than an old CS GO entry or the Steam client.
Desktop baselineRecord your existing color value so you can restore your previous appearance.
Game profileSave your intended color adjustment for the correct game entry.
Display behaviorRecord your target monitor, resolution, and refresh rate before testing.
SwitchingCheck game focus, Alt+Tab, and game exit separately to see whether the expected colors apply.

Check Compatibility and Avoid Old CS GO Instructions

Before creating your CS2 profile, check that your graphics setup provides the required color controls and that you are following instructions for the current game.

Check Your Graphics and Target Display

Identify your GPU, graphics driver version, Windows version, and VibranceGUI build. If you use multiple monitors, decide which screen you want to adjust. Check whether NVIDIA Digital Vibrance or AMD Saturation is available for that display.

The original project lists NVIDIA laptop GPUs and Intel graphics as unsupported. Its historical developer guide gives a conditional NVIDIA laptop check based on Digital Vibrance being available. Finding the control does not confirm that the app will work on your setup.

Our VibranceGUI laptop compatibility guide explains the relevant hardware and display checks.

Separate CS2 Setup from Legacy CS GO Guides

Use a profile that points to the current CS2 executable. An old entry for csgo.exe should not be treated as a CS2 profile.

The original website labels its historical Version 1 download as CS GO-only. Older screenshots and executable instructions may therefore describe a different setup. A Steam guide appearing under a Counter-Strike 2 header does not, by itself, mean its instructions were updated for CS2.

Check the guide’s date and the program it describes. Our VibranceGUI download and setup guide covers the package and initial setup.

Add the Correct CS2 Game Entry

Select CS2 While It Is Running

Launch Counter-Strike 2 normally through Steam and wait for the game to open. Then switch to VibranceGUI.

In the developer’s documented interface, select Add to open the running-process list. Find the CS2 game process and double-click its entry. Select the game itself, rather than the Steam client.

These control names come from the developer’s guide. Labels may differ in another build. If CS2 does not appear, use manual selection.

Locate the Executable for Manual Selection

In Steam, open your Library, right-click Counter-Strike 2, and open Properties → Installed Files → Browse. This takes you to your own installation rather than relying on a copied drive path.

The reported Windows executable location follows this relative pattern:

Steam: right-click Counter-Strike 2, Properties, Installed Files, Browse
game\bin\win64\cs2.exe

Confirm that the file exists within your installation. Steam libraries can be stored on different drives.

In VibranceGUI, choose Add manually, browse to that executable, and select Accept in the documented interface. Adding the file creates an entry. The switching checks below will help you assess whether the profile actually applies.

Save and Check the Program Entry

Choose your intended game adjustment and select Save. Confirm that the saved profile points to the cs2.exe file you selected.

If an older CS GO profile remains in the list, distinguish it from the CS2 entry before editing settings. You do not need to delete every saved profile to identify the correct one.

Keep the executable name and game files unchanged. Once the entry is saved, check its color settings and behavior when CS2 gains or loses focus.

Choose Game Colors Without Copying a Universal Percentage

Record your existing desktop color value before adjusting the CS2 profile. Then make a small change to the game value and compare the result in the same practice scene, from the same viewpoint, under similar room lighting.

There is no universal percentage that suits every monitor and player. NVIDIA Digital Vibrance and AMD Saturation values are not equivalent measurements. Judge the appearance on your display instead of copying a number from another setup.

ItemWhat to compare
Desktop baselineCheck familiar browser content and a photograph before changing anything.
CS2 sceneCompare the same viewpoint before and after the adjustment.
Strong colorsCheck whether nearby shades remain distinguishable rather than blending together.
Other display controlsKeep brightness, gamma, and monitor picture mode unchanged during the comparison.
Other automationPause competing color-profile tools so their changes do not confuse the result.

If familiar objects look unnatural or strong colors become distracting, reduce the adjustment. Saturation does not replace brightness, gamma, or sharpening. Our Digital Vibrance guide explains which control affects each part of the image.

Verify Game Focus and Desktop Restoration

Use a practice session to check the saved profile without interrupting a competitive match. Compare each transition with your recorded desktop baseline and chosen game appearance.

Alt+Tab between Counter-Strike 2 and the desktop to check that the game level and desktop level switch correctly
ActionExpected behavior to checkRecord if different
Focus CS2The intended game appearance applies.Selected profile and target display.
Alt+TabDesktop colors return to your baseline. The actual color result.
Return to CS2The game appearance applies again.Whether repeated switches behave consistently.
Exit CS2The desktop baseline returns and remains in place.Any persistent adjustment.
Start another sessionThe saved profile still behaves as intended.Any versions or settings changed since the previous check.

A successful first launch does not confirm every transition. Record the specific step that fails, then repeat it after making one relevant change. Keep monitor movement and resolution changes separate from these color observations.

Check Alt+Tab, Multiple Monitors and Resolution Changes

Color switching and display-mode changes need different checks. Before investigating, record your intended monitor, desktop resolution, and refresh rate. Keep optional resolution changes out of a color-only test.

CS2 Moves to Another Monitor

A report in the original VibranceGUI GitHub repository describes CS2 intermittently moving to a second monitor after Alt+Tab. The reporter said disabling the app stopped the behavior on their system. That report does not establish the cause on every PC.

Note which monitor should display CS2, which screens are connected, and which one Windows identifies as the primary display. Also record the game’s display mode.

Check whether the movement occurs with VibranceGUI fully closed as well as running. If your build includes optional display-changing settings, inspect their saved configuration. Keep the other settings unchanged during this comparison.

Resolution, Refresh Rate or Mouse Position Changes

Steam and Reddit discussions include reports of resolution changes and a cursor that does not line up with menu items. These experiences suggest what to inspect, but they do not establish one reliable fix for every setup.

SymptomFirst checkUseful evidence
Game moves screensTarget display and any optional display-changing settings.Which monitor shows the game before and after switching.
Resolution changesExisting game and desktop resolution values.Actual resolution before and after the problem.
Refresh rate changesYour recorded, supported refresh rate. The rate shown after switching.
Cursor does not line upWhether resolution or scaling changed.A screenshot or recording showing the pointer and the affected menu item.

Only adjust controls that exist in your installed build and whose purpose is clear. Avoid forcing an unsupported refresh rate or copying a stretched-resolution configuration to solve a color-profile problem.

If CS2 Colors Do Not Change

First, check whether the native color control works independently of VibranceGUI. This helps separate a saved-profile problem from a driver or display-control limitation.

Compare Native Adjustment with Profile Automation

  1. Record the current color value for your selected display.
  2. Exit VibranceGUI and pause any other color automation.
  3. Make a small, reversible adjustment using the available NVIDIA or AMD color control.
  4. Observe the actual screen using familiar content.
  5. Restore your original value.

If manual adjustment works, inspect the saved CS2 entry and its behavior when the game gains focus. If manual adjustment also fails, investigate the selected display and native control first. This comparison narrows the next check rather than proving a single cause.

Check NVIDIA Reference Mode When Relevant

If NVIDIA color adjustments are unavailable, check whether Override to reference mode is present and enabled. NVIDIA documents that selecting this mode disables color-enhancement controls and sets them to default values.

A CS2-related GitHub report describes restoring adjustment after unchecking this option. However, the report does not prove that a driver update enabled it or that the same change will resolve your issue.

Reference mode may be intentional, especially in a calibrated workflow. Check its purpose before changing it. For further symptom-based checks, use our VibranceGUI not-working guide.

Investigate Stutter Without Assuming the Cause

Compare the same CS2 scene, resolution, and graphics settings with VibranceGUI running and fully closed. Repeat the comparison to see whether the difference is consistent.

A project issue reports frametime spikes with certain NVIDIA drivers. It is a user report, not proof of a CS2-specific defect or the cause of stutter on your PC.

RecordWhy it helps
App state and versionMakes the on/off comparison repeatable.
Driver and GPUIdentifies the graphics setup involved.
Scene and settingsReduces unrelated variation between checks.
FPS and frametime, where availableSeparates average frame rate from uneven frame delivery.

Record what changes before choosing a next step. One smoother attempt does not establish the cause, and the report alone does not justify installing an older driver.

VAC, Trusted Mode and FACEIT

Permission depends on the service and software being used. FACEIT’s official guidance, checked on 10 October 2026, explicitly lists VibranceGUI as permitted with its anti-cheat. Keep that evidence within its stated scope.

ContextEvidenceLimit
FACEITOfficial guidance names VibranceGUI.This is not blanket approval for other services or modified builds.
Valve Trusted ModeValve documents restrictions on third-party interaction with CS2.General rules do not provide VibranceGUI-specific certification.
Historical VAC statementsThe original developer explains the program’s historical implementation. That explanation is not a current universal guarantee.
Tournament useIndividual events may publish software rules.A platform listing does not replace event requirements.

A compatibility error, security warning, and account ban mean different things. Permission also does not verify a downloaded file’s authenticity. Our Is VibranceGUI safe? guide separates these concerns and examines the supporting evidence.

Restore Your Baseline or Use Native Controls

Select the same display you adjusted and restore your recorded color value in the relevant graphics control panel. Apply the change if required, then compare familiar desktop content with its previous appearance.

If VibranceGUI is still running, a saved profile may change that value again when you switch applications. Pause the automation while restoring your baseline, then check its saved settings before resuming it.

Your previous custom value may differ from the default. Deleting the program’s files is not a verified substitute for restoring color settings.

If one manual adjustment suits your desktop and CS2, you may not need automation. AMD also documents per-game Custom Color settings on supported configurations. Our VibranceGUI alternatives guide compares available options and their switching limitations.

Conclusion

A VibranceGUI CS2 profile needs the correct game entry, saved color preferences, and checks for game focus, Alt+Tab, and exit. Start from a recorded desktop baseline and make small adjustments so you can judge the result and reverse unwanted changes.

If problems persist, use your recorded symptoms, versions, and display settings to follow the relevant troubleshooting steps. Consider available native controls when automation does not suit your setup, and keep your original values for restoring the previous appearance.
